Fall Daydream

As summer blends to fall, I’d close my eyes if I could fall asleep.
Staying awake as Hannah closes in for a kiss if only in my head.
Last fall, she knocked on my heart, stopping via a viral daydream to tell me it felt so right that she felt it, too.
Ten thousand miles from here to September through November, I’d fall asleep if I could breathe underwater; she changes clothes like the leaves fall, changing colors, sizes.
Passion bursts and euphoria drips with dopamine as we transfer body heat one to each other.
It’s fall again.
It’s love again.
It’s falling asleep in unfamiliar bedsheets before she leaves; we played in the leaves.
I’d fall asleep if only in my head.
